Rhizob

Product Overview

Grotec Agro products Jeevan sakthi Bio Jeevan Rhizobia is a biological fertilizer based on a selected strain of naturally occurring beneficial bacteria-Rhizobium leguminosarum. They actively fix atmospheric nitrogen through a symbiotic relationship with leguminous plants. It is used as an effective soil application product.

Over dependence and abuse of nitrogenous fertilizers based on fossil fuel/ chemical has resulted in depletion of beneficial soil microbial organisms.  Cost of chemical  nitrogenous fertilizers is increasing progressively and making it  unaffordable to farmers. Biological nitrogen Fixation(BNF) is proven concept for over a century and is a cost effective proposition.
Nodule formation: The infection triggers cell division in the root cortex where a new organ, the nodule, appears as a result of successive processes.  Infection threads grow the nodule, infect its central tissue and release the rhizobia in these cells, where they differentiate morphologically into bacteroids and fix nitrogen from the atmosphere into a plant usable form,  ammonium icons(NH4+), using the enzyme nitrogenase.
In return,  the plant supplies the bacteria with carbohydrates, proteins and sufficient oxygen so as not to interfere with the fixation process. Leghemoglobin  are secreted which are plant proteins similar to human hemoglobins that help to provide oxygen for respiration while keeping the free oxygen concentration low enough not to inhibit nitrogenase activity.

Benefits

  • The effective strain used in Rhizobium culture increases the healthy nodulation and there by nitrogen fixation(about 20 to 30 Kg.peracre)
  • About 20% to 35% increase in crop yield can be achieved with the use of this Rhizobium leguminosarum culture
  • The bacteria infect the legume root and form root nodules within which they reduce molecular nitrogen to ammonia which is reality utilized by the plant to produce valuable proteins, vitamins and other nitrogen containing compounds. The site of symbiosis is within the root nodules.
  • The residues of pulses (legume crops) left in the soil after harvesting the crop are also advantageous to the subsequent crops to be sown.
  • This Rhizobium leguminosarum having 1*109 CFU per ml.count.

Dosage

Soil Application

Mix 1 to 2 Ltr per acre of Bio Jeevan Rhizob with compost and apply to the soil.

Drip irrigation:Mix 1 ltr/3Ltr.of BIO Jeevan Rhizob in drip stream.

Foliar Application

It can be used as a foliar spray @ 3ml/Ltr.of water
Seed treatment: Mix 10 ml of Bio Jeevan Rhizob with 10 g of  crude sugar in sufficient water to make slurry and coat 1kg of seeds, dry in shade and sow/broadcast/dibble in the field.
Seed treatment: Mix 50 ml of Bio Jeevan Rhizob with sufficient quantity of water and organic manure to form a slurry. The seedings are dipped in this slurry for 30 mins. Prior to planting so that the bacteria get attached to the roots.
Note: In general it has been observed that the success of any microbial products under field condition mainly depends on how they are applied,  the time,  method and quantum of application.
Precautions
  • Do not use chemical fungicide after application of Bio Jeevan Rhizob for 4 to 5 days.
  • Store in a cool and dry place.

Compatibility

Jeevan sakthi Bio Jeevan Rhizob is compatible with organic manure and Biocontrol agents.
